384 & new 1536 PCR plate
Compatible with standard liquid handling systems, plate readers, automated plate stackers as well as KBioscience's complete genotyping pipeline
KBioscience 1536-well PCR plate
All KBiosciences PCR plates are designed to be water tight at
95°C and compatible with our water bath based Hydrocycler thermal cycler. Our plate design has a flat surface allowing increased seal surface area, making it laser sealable or superior in performance when using adhesive seals. This new design of the KBiosciences plate has a traditional skirt structure making transition to its use seamless. The skirt and height of the plate are identical to the more standard 384 well PCR plate. It is constructed from virgin Polypropylene, ensuring good thermal transfer. The wells are v shaped to ensure good thermal conduction with the water bath. They have a 7ul maximum well volume, with good PCR easily attainable at 0.5ul volumes.
Conventional thermal sealing on 1536 and low volume 384 plates is known to be poor as it adds considerable heat before being PCR amplified. By using transmission diode laser
welding we solved this problem and have been able to perform robust sub microlitre
PCR reactions on a routine daily basis.
The KBioscience 1536-well plate is available for purchase in a either clear,
black or white colour.
Product codes ordering info for 384 &1536 plates
KBioscience's 384-well & 1536 plate is identical in footprint to
the current 384 PCR plate standard but without the raised castle. The top of
the plate is completely flat. This has a number of advantages as listed below.
- Improved adhesion for sticky plate seals
- Reduced evaporation for PCRs conducted with sticky plate seals
- Easy removal of seals for Post-PCR plate processing
- Improved sealing in Hydrocycler water bath cyclers utilising compression basket seals
- Fully Fusion laser sealing compatible
Bar coded
All plates supplied bar coded (optional) single/double sided
Quality control
QC tested per batch including leak testing electrostatic vacuum & pressure.
