DNA Extraction Technology
We use our own in-house silica based systems for blood, buffy, saliva, buccal swab and tissue extractions.
We have optimised this system to produce high quality, high yield DNA which has been shown to be suitable for long term storage and more importantly the process does not require a precipitation step.
The removal of the requirement for DNA precipitation means that it is impossible to lose pellets, resulting in extremely high success rates.
Our Extraction team utilise a combination of tube or plate based DNA extraction depending on the volume of extractions carried out. We operate in a batch, semi-automated mode that offers us the ultimate in throughput without any sacrifice in security, yield, quality or flexibility.
The actual purification process varies depending on the input material. A graphical representation of this is shown below.
