Klear Gene DNA Extraction Kits
Introduction
The KlearGene family are a series of kits designed for the simple, rapid extraction and purification of high quality and quantity genomic DNA from a variety of different sources. The kits are available in different sizes optimised for the extraction of DNA from different amounts of starting material, and for different numbers of samples. The KlearGene XL blood kits in particular are designed with large-volume extraction in mind, being optimised to handle multi-milli litre blood samples, typical of the sizes of collection tubes normally used in phlebotomy.
The method is based on the highly proven technology of cell lysis and DNA binding to silica particles mediated by the chaotrope guanidinium isothiocyanate, followed by washing to remove contaminants and eventual elution of the DNA into a low salt buffer. Typical starting material is a 1 -10ml EDTA-coated vacuette.

Klear Gene Plate 96 or 384 - For DNA Extractions of 100ng to 10ug (typically Plant and Rodent tails)
Glass Fibre solid support Microtitre plate kit for automated or manual DNA extraction of small masses such as plant tissue. This kit is available in both 96 and 384 well formats.
